The Leadership Crisis of the US Ruling Class - Part IIby Ron TaborAug 28, 2011 ![]() In last year’s issue of the Utopian, I wrote about the leadership crisis plaguing the ruling class of the United States. My article discussed the fact that although the US was faced with dire economic and social problems, the ruling class - the tiny, extremely wealthy elite that controls the country’s economic, social, and political institutions - was incapable of making the political decisions necessary to address those issues. While the leadership crisis may not have been obvious last summer, it has become blazingly clear since then. It is worth reviewing some of the issues confronting the US capitalist class.
